PLEASE NOTE: We request that the seller of the caravan ensures the caravan set up prior to the arrival of our inspector. This includes the seller fully expanding/unpacking the caravan, ensuring the caravan is fully set up and connected to power and annexes are on full display. RedBook Inspect require the vehicle being inspected to be located and assembled on a safe and level surface with walking space distance around the perimeter of the vehicle. Unfortunately, if these components are not able to be viewed, our inspector will be unable to examine those areas at the point of inspection.
The below checkpoints are not included in a camper tent trailer inspection:
- Technical systems
- Chassis alignment
- Engineering, compliance and quality of tow hitches, frames and attachments
- Dimensions and towing restrictions (in relation to which it is the buyer’s responsibility to check prior to purchase)
- The tow vehicle is not road tested
- Electric expendable living areas
- Roof condition where a lift or ladder is required to view and assess
- Status of habitation areas
- Air conditioning efficiency
- LPG systems
- Mechanical switching of lights, switches and plugs
- Additional accessories included as a result of owner’s modifications
- Degree of gas emissions
- Functionality of audio-visual or entertainment system including CD, Cassette, TV, DVD, iPod connectivity, sensors, alarm/security devices, satellite navigation systems/GPS
- Upper expandable roof to be raised prior to inspection
- Standard to which repairs or service history have been completed
- Body water leaks or reason for leaks
- Electrical systems and electronics
- Wheel cylinders
- Evidence of brake fluid contamination
- Drinking water tank and leaks
- Anti-lock braking system (ABS) mechanics
- Condition of solar panelling
- Electric Brake function and lining material, brake drums, limited to what is immediately visible
- Emergency break away system, or stability system operation for caravans or trailers
- Bathroom operation (shower/ toilet) & facilities
- Waste water and processing systems
- Operation of refrigerator, oven, microwave appliances
- Road / Tow test

- Body water leaks or reason for leaks
- Odometer and camshaft belt, drive belt and timing belt;
- Estimated expiry of exhaust system, clutch, dual mass flywheels
- Standard to which repairs or service history have been completed
- Functionality of audio-visual or entertainment system including CD, Cassette, TV, DVD, iPod connectivity, sensors, alarm/security devices, satellite navigation systems/GPS

- Catalytic converters
- Additional accessories included as a result of owner’s modifications
